In the heart of Los Angeles, where the pulse of the fashion industry beats strongest, Karina Cardona stands as a beacon of sustainable style and timeless elegance.

With a storied 17-year journey in the world of fashion, Karina’s narrative is one of creativity, education, and a profound commitment to weaving sustainability into every stitch.

Her journey began with a solid foundation, graduating from both the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) and LCI Barranquilla in Colombia, then returning to Barranquilla for a fashion design refresher at La Salle University, where she also certified in CLO 3D digital pattern making. These formative years laid the groundwork for a career that would see Karina collaborate with industry giants such as Apple, Theophelio, Zegna, and Women of Wrestling, leaving an indelible mark on the global fashion landscape.

Yet, for Karina, fashion is more than just a canvas of fabric and design; it’s a philosophy, a commitment to Sustainability First. Guided by a vision of clothing with longevity and timelessness, she meticulously plans wardrobes and simplifies materials to create pieces that not only stand out but stand the test of time. Her dedication to sustainability extends to working with master craftsmen, ensuring that each creation tells a story of eco-consciousness and durability.

In the world Karina envisions, fashion isn’t just about what you wear; it’s about the values you wear. Her commitment to creating an ecosystem of equitable human capital and ethically sourced materials is evident in every step of her process. She seamlessly combines environmental consciousness with budget-conscious choices, ensuring her clients not only look good but feel good about their choices.

A true testament to Karina’s transformative touch is the success story of styling the cast of the hit TV show Bel-Air for their Season 1 premiere. It’s more than just fashion; it’s a reflection of her ability to turn visions into reality, one outfit at a time.

Karina’s personal touch is the thread that weaves her story into the fabric of her clients’ lives. She goes beyond refining pieces; she delves deep to uncover the soul of her clients, pulling forth their best and most aligned selves. Through custom visual odes, she creates an experience that transcends fashion, tapping into the inner child’s wildest dreams.

About the Studio

Shanti Creative was built for people who would rather be unique than expected, who think outside the box, and who find beauty in rare things. Nothing leaves it that was not cut for the person who will wear it.

The story starts in Los Angeles and in Colombia, with one idea: a place where a garment could be imagined, cut, and finished under a single roof. In the first years Karina made every design by hand.

Training at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising and at LCI Barranquilla gave that instinct a craft to stand on, and a later CLO 3D certification added digital pattern making to it. Seventeen years of fittings, patterns, and shows built on both.

The studio works today alongside master craftsmen, on a sustainability-first practice: simpler materials, longer wear, and wardrobes planned to outlast a season rather than be replaced by one. That way of working has dressed major brands and put the cast of Bel-Air on the carpet for a season premiere. The door is open to anyone who wants to be dressed as themselves.
